Members can invite non members to play on Tennis & Badminton courts.

Tennis court hire
A social game of doubles or a rematch between ‘rivals’, hire one of our eight high quality courts.
Tennis courts can be booked online for existing customers and members.
Court hire starts from just £11 per hour or is free with a tennis membership with a maximum court allowance of 2 off-peak courts per day, 1 peak court per day.

FAQs Junior/Adult
We offer a range of tennis memberships for peak and off-peak use with a 12-month contract, which gives you maximum court allowance of two off-peak courts per day (Mon-Fri 07:00-16:00 / Sat-Sun 16:00-20:00), or one court per day at peak times (Mon-Fri 06:00-07:00 & 16:00-22:00 / Sat-Sun 07:30-16:00).

Tennis court hire is available at the following prices:
- £13 per hour for under 18’s during off-peak hours (Mon-Fri 07:00-16:00 / Sat-Sun 16:00-20:00)
- £16 per hour for adults during off-peak hours (Mon-Fri 07:00-16:00 & 21:00-22:00 / Sat-Sun 16:00-20:00) and £21 per hour at peak times (Mon-Fri 06:00-07:00 & 16:00-21:00 / Sat-Sun 07:30-16:00)
- £21.50 per hour during peak hours (Mon-Fri 06:00-07:00 & 16:00-21:00 / Sat-Sun 07:30-16:00)

The tennis courts at Bolton Arena Community Sports Village are high performance indoor hard courts, to give you the best game all year-round; we also have 2 American-style outdoor courts.

Yes, we do. You can take advantage of our adult tennis lessons or even choose private tennis lessons with an LTA licensed coach.
Our Tennis Xpress sessions are aimed at adults new to tennis, or those who haven’t played for some time. Each session will develop the basic techniques and tactics needed to play the game.
Our Coach and Play sessions are aimed at adults looking to further develop their tennis, each session will upskill players on their groundstrokes, serve and volley.
Social Tennis is included as part of our tennis membership, providing sessions are for players of all levels.
For children, our tennis skills pathway caters for youngsters as young as three and takes them on a journey that covers all the basics, through to match play proficiency. We also have junior performance programmes for children aged between 10 and 14 with LTA‑licensed coaches.
Our Tennis Academy gives gifted players the chance to optimise their tennis potential between the ages of 10 and 14 years.
Bolton Arena Community Sports Village serves as the Lawn Tennis Association’s Regional Player Development Centre (RPDC) for the Northwest. Our goal is to produce internationally relevant professional tennis players that will go on to be selected for the LTA’s National Academy.

Our expert coaches organise singles and doubles matches using a variety of formats. They are aimed at players who either compete in the local tennis leagues or are participating in our advanced coaching sessions. Players may need to be assessed by a member of the coaching team to ensure they are of the right level if they haven’t attended previously. This is included as part of our tennis membership.

Yes. We have eight high quality tennis courts for hire within our indoor tennis facility. Please note, however, they might not always be available if we are hosting a major LTA tournament.
Yes, we do. In fact, we’ve been hosting LTA international wheelchair tennis at the Bolton Arena for more than 10 years.
No, non-members will need to become a casual member to hire a tennis court.
You can buy a tennis racket from £24 at the shop in reception. You can also rent a tennis racket, providing a deposit of £5 (cash only), and then £1 fee for the racket hire.
Meet the team
Elliot
As a Coach Elliot has over 10 years experience working from club to grand slam level. Coaching players who have represented Great Britain at Junior & Senior level as well as multiple National Champions.
Sabrina
Head of RPDC, Sabrina has first-hand experience of the Academy, having trained at Bolton Arena Community Sports Village as a performance player from aged 7 to 18. Sabrina is currently a Level 4 certified coach working primarily with our U12’s-U18’s.
Simon
Simon is currently the Cheshire County Performance Coordinator. This role includes overseeing more than 100 players in County Training and helping player programmes to give the players the best chance of improving.
Howard
Head of Strength & Conditioning, This experience includes working with players across various levels including, national and international juniors, ATP and WTA professionals including a former world number one.
Matt
Matt ran the performance programme at the Northern LTC, producing numerous national and international level players and has coached a player to win the National Championships 2022. Matt is the current coach of the U18 Boys Cheshire team.
