Our gymnastics program at Bolton Arena Community Sports Village offers progressive training, to help your children develop new skills and reach new heights in gymnastics.
At Bolton Arena Community Sports Village, we offer gymnastics classes for all abilities and children of crawling age through to the age of 16.
Our facilities and coaches are ready and waiting for you and your little ones to come and enjoy our sessions.
Getting started
We run four blocks of classes throughout the year for various ages. The number of weeks in each block ranges between 8 and 10, with a week break at the end of summer and over Christmas.
Once your child is enrolled on a block you will be notified about re-enrolment 3 weeks before the next block starts. There is a 2 week window to make payment to secure your child’s place before we offer it to our waiting list.

Gym Tots
At Gym Tots, gymnastics activities are set up for parent & child to explore together. Our fantastic coaches show you all the different activities you can do on the soft play equipment & gymnastic apparatus. This fun and safe introduction to gymnastics is a great way for your child to learn through play, imagination, and creativity, whilst socialising with other Gym Tots.

Pre-School Gymnastics – Children aged 2½ – 4 years
This independent class offers a safe, playful environment where your child can learn the basic fundamentals of Gymnastics through games and group activities. This includes shapes, balancing, and coordination activities.

Gymnastics
The gymnastic syllabus focuses on the gymnastic skills for the floor, bars, beam and vault apparatus. Children also work on their balance, strength, flexibility and co-ordination.
The class ratio is 9:1 and the coach may split the children into groups to work on skills related to the apparatus.

The gymnastic syllabus focuses on the gymnastic skills for the floor, bars, beam and vault apparatus at a more advanced level.
Advanced gymnastic classes run for 2 hours, the class ratio is 9:1 and the coach may split the children into groups to work on skills related to the apparatus.

For most gymnastic levels, 4 blocks of classes run throughout the year. The number of weeks in each block will range from 14-17, with a short block over the summer period. There will be a week off at the end of Summer and over Christmas. Once you enrol on a block of classes you will then be notified of re-enrolment 4 weeks prior to the next block commencing.

From tots to teens, we have gymnastics for all! Our brilliant gymnastics programme is made up of four segments:
- Gym tots – walking to 4 years
- Pre-school – 2.5 to 4 years
- Beginner and intermediate – 4 to 16 years
- Advanced – 7 to 16 years
Yes, they are. All our coaches hold at least Level 1 general gymnastics coaching qualifications.
Yes, we do. Our all-encompassing gymnastics programme covers everything from fun-filled introductions for tots through to advanced modules for teens.
Our fantastic coaches will show you all the different activities your child can do on the soft play and gymnastic apparatus to ensure their introduction into gymnastics is lots of fun and safe. Expect lots of bright, colourful equipment. As children get older, our syllabus focuses on skills for the floor, bars, beam and vault.
Our school holiday sports camps are an excellent way for children to stay busy and active. Our gymnastics camps feature various activities to help children develop and learn new skills. They give children the opportunity to use a wide range of apparatus, including beams, boxes, trampettes, air track and bars, as well as performing routines. All sessions are delivered in a fun and safe environment.
Sorry, we don’t offer gymnastics classes for adults.
Yes, please just enquire via gymnastics@boltonarena.com – we offer a trial session for newcomers.
No, we don’t run competitions as such; however, we do provide certificates / badges when our gymnasts reach their goals.

It is our mission to inspire people of all ages, backgrounds and abilities to follow a lifelong passion for sport and healthy lifestyles through the provision of excellent sport & exercise facilities and sports programmes which are accessible to all.
Governed by a board of trustees, surplus revenues are reinvested into the facility, activities to benefit the local community.
