Bolton Arena Sports Village proudly announce Russell & Russell Walking Football sponsorship / Russell & Russell is delighted to announce its new partnership with Bolton Arena Sports Village to sponsor the local Walking Football team.
Walking Football is exactly what it sounds like – a version of the game of football where players walk instead of run. It’s designed to help people get fit or maintain an active lifestyle, as well as to support people getting back into football that may have given up due to age, injury or lack of opportunity.
Russell & Russell’s ex-managing partner Stephen Crompton is the latest name on the Walking Football team sheet and the firm is thrilled to be able to support Stephen and champion the UK’s fastest growing sport by sponsoring the team.
Stephen retired as joint managing partner at Russell & Russell in April 2021, having been at the firm for 42 years and managing partner for 11 years.
Stephen’s achievements at the firm and in the wider community are well recognised. He has lived in Bolton all his life and has contributed to many charities in the town, giving freely of his time and talents, in particular to Bolton Lads and Girls Club where he served as a board member and avid fundraiser for many years. Stephen has always been an active Bolton Wanderers FC supporter, so it was only natural that he would be attracted to Walking Football at Bolton Arena Sports Village.

Our partnership
The partnership with Bolton Arena Sports Village’s Walking Football team is the latest in a long line of local initiatives that Russell & Russell is proud to support.
The firm’s community roots go back to 1887 when William Russell set up his legal practice in Bolton. A public-spirited individual who was an avid supporter of local charities, William Russell also contributed greatly to local affairs.
Although the firm is no longer in the hands of the Russell family, the practice still maintains the values William Russell advocated all those years ago.
Russell & Russell provide friendly, professional advice in the manner a traditional high street law firm would, but this is now blended with a 21st Century approach.
