Couch to 5K run group starts soon

Horwich Harriers in partnership with Bolton Arena Gym are launching a brand new 'Couch to 5K' programme which will start at 18:30 on Monday 5th September at Bolton Arena, located on the running track.

You will be lead and encouraged by a UK Run Leader who has just followed this exact programme throughout the 8 weeks, at the same time meeting new friends all working to achieve the same goal.

This is the challenge in a nutshell:

Aim – To run/walk 3 times a week for at least 30 minutes.

Benefits – Running at any speed will get your heart pumping. Running regularly, or 3 times a week, will increase your fitness so you don’t feel out of breath. It will also give your mood a boost and feel energised.

Goal – The programme is 8 weeks long but It is fine to repeat weeks which the whole group will do so could take longer, the whole course will be adapted to suit everyone’s capabilities.

Next steps – We have a limited 15 places, and places will be on a first come first served basis. A closed what’s app group will be set up to communicate and encourage each other.

The coached sessions will be on Monday night meeting at Reception at Bolton Arena for a 18:30 start.
