September Great Northern Wedding Show

On Sunday 15th September we hosted our second Great Northern Wedding show of the year!

The Great Norther Wedding Show is one of the largest wedding shows in the North West, and was once again another successful show with some of the best wedding suppliers showcasing what they do best. In the main hall we saw over 100 exhibitors leading the way for couples who were looking for the latest trends and making dreams become a reality.

The show also saw two fantastic catwalk shows with beautiful wedding gowns to mother of the Bride outfits and entertainment from Six15 and Ref Floral Architecture.

The Great Northern Wedding show is run by Little White Books and host a number of wedding shows throughout the North West. We are delighted that they will be returning for 2020 for their fifteenth Great Wedding Show on Sunday 19th April all you need to do is pre-register and entry will guarantee free entry for you and your bride tribe!

Cryotherapy Unit To Open In November

Stateside Foods Bolton Arena’s Cryotherapy unit will be available for public bookings from Monday 4th November.

Cryotherapy, sometimes known as cold therapy, is the local or general use of low temperatures in medical therapy.

Whole Body Cryotherapy can be used to improve heart rate variability & increase an athletes ability to adapt to the high physical demands of physical activity. When the body is exposed to very low temperatures of -135ºC for 2-3 minutes, there is an increase in tissue oxygenation.

It can also be used during an athletes recovery cycle, allowing a quicker return to training or performing, as well as helping to reduce inflammatory response during rehabilitation.

Book an individual cryotherapy session for £30.  All appointments must be made prior to booking, and are subject to availability.

September Networking Arena 2019

The third Networking Arena event of 2019 took place on Thursday 19th September in the Conference Suite at Stateside Foods Bolton Arena.

Networking Arena is now in its fifth year and continues to be as popular as ever. The event brought over 60 local businessmen and women together for the informal networking event.

On this occasion, the event was sponsored by a Networking Arena regular, Brabners, a leading commercial law firm with offices in Liverpool, Manchester and Preston. We’re excited to announce a new commercial partnership with Cornerstone Design & Marketing.

CORNERSTONE Design & Marketing is a full-service marketing agency working with a wide range of companies and organisations to develop robust marketing strategies to help advance and grow their businesses and customer-base.

USN Bolton Arena are delighted to have extended our partnership with The Energy Check for a further 3 years.

CAREER PATH: After graduating from Trent Polytechnic, I spent 16 years in local authority leisure departments in Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, Coventry and Yorkshire. I then set up a marketing department before making the move to Bolton Arena in 2007.

WHAT DOES YOUR JOB ENTAIL? I oversee the fitness, conferencing, events and the various business services we offer such as office spaces and sponsorship opportunities. I am also responsible for marketing and I’m a member of the Arena’s senior management team.

WHAT ATTRIBUTES DOES YOUR JOB NEED? The main purpose of the job is to make sure the Arena generates enough revenues to sustain itself so you need to be creative, resourceful and business-focused. We are quite a small team so you have to be a team player and help and support your colleagues to get the job done! But, we are a people business so the most important attributes are a passion for people and for sport and fitness.

WHAT DO YOU LIKE BEST ABOUT YOUR JOB? I get a real buzz from coming up with new ideas, putting them into practice and then seeing people of all ages getting enjoyment and excitement from the activities and facilities we’ve provided.

WHAT IS YOUR CAREER PLAN? At the moment, I am fully focused on my role at the Arena. We’ve got lots of exciting projects ahead and I am looking forward to working with colleagues to bring them to fruition and making the Arena an even better place to work and visit.

WHAT IS THE BEST THING ABOUT WORKING AT THE ARENA? As a sporty person, it’s great to be surrounded by great sports facilities and like-minded people. The Arena is full of great people (colleagues and customers) and it’s a pleasure to come to work.
