At the start of November we launched a range of new activities to help members get the most out of their membership and they certainly seem to have had an impact!
The first activity to take place was our Couch to 5K running group, which started on Wednesday 26th October. The group had a slow start, but now in its fourth week, numbers have risen and a healthy group regularly attend. If you want to hit the ground running in 2017, this group is definitely for you.
15 Minute Abs has proven to be a success. Throughout the day staff put on a grueling core workout in the stretch zone. There’s no need to book so next time you’re in the gym, join in!
The biggest hit of the new activities seems to be Boogie Bounce. This brand new studio class sees participants bouncing and dancing on a trampoline! It’s so popular we have a waiting list for our next class. Here’s a glimpse of what you can expect from a class.
We also put on a coffee morning, which proved to be a great way for members to get together and make new friends.
There’s still a couple of activities yet to start. On Saturday 19th November, at 8am, we will be hosting our very first Bootcamp. If you’re looking for something more intense, this is definitely for you. This can be booked online.
The first of our walking groups will debut on Friday 25th November leaving at 10.30am. The group will be meeting in the car park on Lever Park Avenue Horwich (situated almost opposite Rivington and Blackrod High School BL6 7SE). Members MUST speak with a member of the gym team to book a place and fill in the necessary paperwork before hand.
Suitable clothes must be worn as irrespective of the weather (unless snow or ice!). Level of fitness must be suitable to walk at a brisk pace for up to 3.5 hours.
We’ve also had a Technogym challenge happening in the gym. Two teams compete against each other to see who can collect the most moves. So if you’re feeling competitive, ask a member of staff and join in. The challenge finishes on the 25th November. As a club we’ve reached over 250,000 moves!
