YOUNGSTERS who want to benefit from the first-class education given at Bolton School are invited to an Entrance Testing Day in January.
The famous independent school, one of the oldest in Lancashire dating back to at least 1516, has an unparalleled reputation in education in the North-west.
As well as first-class facilities including its own nursery and sixth form college, the school also operates BSS Coaches which picks up children daily across a wide area – from Manchester, Bury, and Preston to Wigan and Warrington.
The Testing Day on Thursday, January 19 is for entrance into the junior school’s Year 3 for seven year-olds and into Year 7 of the senior school for 11 year-olds.
Explained Bolton School Head of Marketing, John Newbould: “Children will be tested on their English, maths and verbal and non-verbal reasoning. There will be breaks and refreshments and we try to make Testing Day as child-friendly as possible.”
Mr Newbould added that bursaries were available for some pupils. “We look at how well each child is doing and at families and how much they earn,” he added. “Bursaries can cover a portion, or in some cases all, fees.”
