THE last time Tony Lister worked at the USN Bolton Arena was 10 years ago when he was training to be a tennis coach.
Now he’s back, as boss of his own company Keep Cosy Ltd, which is the latest business to find a home at the Arena. And he’s delighted to return: “Yes, it really is nice to be here again, although it’s definitely different!”
After becoming a tennis coach across schools and sports centres in Bolton and Greater Manchester, Mr Lister, who lives in Egerton, had been working in the renewable energy field, providing services including solar power.
When the Government began offering funding for new boilers and central heating, he spotted a gap in the market and last August he decided to start his own business.
Since then, the company has grown and he now has three staff, including qualified Gas Safe installers, working alongside him in the business which provides affordable finance for new boilers and central heating.
Keep Cosy also has a contract with EDF Energy, using the EcoFunding scheme to offer financial help to low-income families and those on benefits.
Mr Lister chose the Arena because of its location. “It’s so close to the motorway,” he stated, “and we generally work within a 30 to 40 mile radius of Bolton so it’s ideal.”
He also has praise for the “superb management team” at the Arena, and is looking forward to a long – and warm – business relationship here.
